Esta"brooks", Line, & Sinker!

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

February XXIVth, MMXVIII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Ward D Edmonton Public School Board Trustee Trisha Estabrooks, B. A. (Honours), B. Journ. is very fair & nuanced in her call for private schools to lose all public funding. But the Madam Trustee, I should point out that to be completely equitable, should call also for the defunding of all public dollars for Catholic education, as well as homeschooling, charter schools, correspondence, tutoring, & any other private option. Singling out the private schools for defunding alone seems a tad unjust. She also has to respect that some private options are cheaper than the public system & actually do a better job per student with less dollars.

"On The Next Billy Graham Television Special!"

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

February XXIst, MMXVIII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

XCIX (Ninety-Nine) years, wow what a glorious run of over eight decades of preaching for the Reverend Doctor Billy Graham. Respected for his crusades & ministry by all people of all religions, as well as those who are secular, now Billy can finally rest & do a touch of preaching up in Heaven for his Lord! He'll be together with George Beverly Shea belting out "The Old Rugged Cross" in song as Billy comes upstairs to once again be with his very dear bride Ruth who was so helpful in his ministry & his personal favourite fan in Canada, my mom Mrs. June C. Koopmans, B. Ed.!

Parked To Go

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

February XXth, MMXVIII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Medical students & staff at hospitals will tell you it is frustrating when people park in the ambulance bay. I have seen it happen while waiting in emergency rooms or dropping patients off at assigned public areas. Yes hospital parking is expensive, but if people block an ambulance from coming in, it will take them longer to disembark & offload their patient(s) to receive proper medical care.

Critical Juncture,

Never Discount The Value Of A Letter

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., 15902-100A Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5P 0L8

February XIVth, MMXVIII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

On this day where we write paper letters as Valentine's cards/notes, I'd love to help paint a literary picture with Rachel's online campaign against the Hon. John Horgan, B. A., M. A., MLA, Premier, New Democratic, Langford-Juan De Fuca. But she has to realize that if he backs off he'll lose the coalition support of Andrew Weaver, B. Sci., M. Advanced Study, Ph. D., MLA, Green, Oak Bay-Gordon Head & possibly let the BC Liberals take over without an election, just as he did from Christy Clark whose successor in Kelowna-West is being chosen today in a byelection.

Rachel has her online petition & wants folks to supplement it by contacting MPs by email as well. But the Honourable Lady IV Edmonton-Strathcona (of whom I'm a huge fan) shouldn't discount the value of paper letters or hard copies in this campaign as well because using mail allows a person to take more time to develop their thoughts & arguments. Plus she should encourage folks to write letters to MLAs, & civic officials not just in Alberta but in British Columbia as well.

Rachel is telling people to write MPs by email, but if people paper mail them letters, its postage free as long as MP is written behind their name. Also, Rachel should encourage folks to write to Senators in both provinces because if you put Senator in front of their name its also postage free or like MPs by mail for free.

Example 1: Senator Grant Mitchell, Independent Liberal, Alberta, Senate of Canada, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0A4
grant.mitchell@sen.parl.gc.ca or mitchg@sen.parl.gc.ca

Example 2: Hon. Amarjeet Sohi, PC, MP, Minister of Infrastructure, Liberal, Edmonton-Millwoods, House of Commons, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0A6
amarjeet.sohi@parl.gc.ca

It should be noted that people can also write MPs postage free at their constituency offices so in Jeet's case as above it would be:

Hon. Amarjeet Sohi, PC, MP, Minister of Infrastructure, Liberal, Edmonton-Millwoods, 9225-28th Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T6N 1N1
amarjeet.sohi.c1@parl.gc.ca

You will note that you should add the designation of "c1" behind a second period if you are emailing a letter to a constituency office of an MP so its seen as for that office rather than their Parliament Hill office.

As for writing Premier J. J. Horgan you write to:

Hon. Premier John J. Horgan, MLA, New Democratic, Langford-Juan De Fuca, 501 Belleville Street, Victoria, British Columbia V8V 1X4
premier@gov.bc.ca

Or as an MLA:

Hon. Premier John. J. Horgan, MLA, New Democratic, Langford-Juan De Fuca, #122, 2806 Jacklin Road, Victoria, British Columbia V9B 5A4
john.horgan.mla@leg.bc.ca

As for writing Premier R. A. Notley you write to:

Hon. Premier Rachel A. Notley, MLA, New Democratic, Edmonton-Strathcona, Room #307 Legislature Bvilding, 10800-97 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5K 2B6
premier@gov.ab.ca

Or as an MLA:

Hon. Premier Rachel A. Notley, MLA, New Democratic, Edmonton-Strathcona, #101, 10328-81 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T6E 1X2
edmonton.strathcona@assembly.ab.ca

It should be noted that writing to MLAs & civic politicians is not postage free like it is federal politicians so people have to be prepared to outlay for stamps if they choose to mail J. J., Rachel Anne or any other provincial or civic official. Other provincial MLAs in BC have @leg.bc.ca behind their names while with the exception of Rachel Anne, MLAs are sarah.hoffman@gov.ab.ca if they are in cabinet or jason.kenney@assembly.ab.ca if they are not in cabinet or are in opposition & you write them at the Legislature Bvdg. Just like with Rachel Anne, if you want to write the MLAs at their constituency office you write to: edmonton.glenora@assembly.ab.ca for Sarah or calgary.lougheed@assembly.ab.ca for Jason as examples or just look up their paper mailing addresses.

You can also Google Search "Alberta Cabinet" & it will provide cabinet officer emails so Sarah Hoffman is health.minister@gov.ab.ca for instance. I would also suggest corey.hogan@gov.ab.ca & lacommunications@assembly.ab.ca as excellent communication links.

I would also Google Search "B. C. Cabinet" to get cabinet emails & also send the letters to the protocol offices & Lt.-Governors for each province, maximum effort. I would also suggest people email PM Trudeau at pm@pm.gc.ca or justin.trudeau@parl.gc.ca or justin.trudeau.c1@parl.gc.ca as a PM can do more.

Go to Www.OurCommons.Ca or Www.Assembly.Ab.Ca or Www.Leg.Bc.Ca to get the proper address information for all other legislators.

More Buck For Your Bang

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin.
15902-100A Avenue
Edmonton, Alberta T5P 0L8

February XIIIth, MMXVIII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA
Minister of Education,
New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Why are there repairs being affected to outside of the Federal Bvilding here in Edmonton, even on sections just built &/or reconstructed. It seems Alberta's construction students & their families are not getting a reasonable bang for their infrastructure dollars?

Also, why at the Workers Compensation Bvilding just immediately north aren't the bike lanes torn out so as to allow WCB clients to be dropped off in front of the main doors? This makes no sense as they have to walk all the way from 99 Avenue on the south end of the facility & many are immobile or of limited mobility thus providing for the possiblity of many more WCB claims!

Rory

Architectural Safety From The Commander

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

February XIth, MMXVIII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

A most valuable architectural safety lesson today from Commander Sir James Bond CMG, RNVR, OBE of Her Majesty's Royal Navy & Secret Service. When climbing tourist landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, or the Golden Gate Bridge or City Hall on fire in San Francisco (necessitating a "dance into the fire" of the elevator shaft & a walk down an exterior San Fran Fire Department ladder with a half unconscious woman on your back to escape), it is wise for students & their families to stay on the assigned stairs &/or public walking paths as much as possible. These seem like rather wise precautions, thank you Commander!

Thank You 007 & Please Bring Back Some of Your Equipment In Working Order For "Q" Branch So They Can Affect Proper Safety Repairs For Your Future Tours,

Rory

That's Caldertastic!

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., Calder Public Library Terminal #VI, Edmonton, Alberta

February Xth, MMXVIII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Right smack dab in the middle of your constituency we have the new Calder Edmonton Public Library (EPL) Branch. This is great as it kind of looks like spider legs from the sky which is great for students interested in arachnology (which they have books on) & the interior has a lot of rounded counters so as to allow library users easier access around them. Calder is a lower income area, but this new branch provides for the fact that rich or poor, all students & their families should have the right to the very best EPL has to offer in services, staff, & study materials!

In The Sixty-Seventh Year Of Her Reign!

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., 15902-100A Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5P 0L8

February VIIth, MMXVIII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

As we enter The Sixty-Seventh Year Of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The IInd's Reign (thank God, long may she reign over us & God Save The Queen), is anyone as tired of Derek Fildebrandt, MLA, Independent, Strathmore-Brooks as I am (even Mrs. Derek is starting to get frustrated with his bullspit with an "h?!" She also says Derek's adult diapers are less pleasant to change than their new baby's as they are loaded with more crap (like Derek's brain, probably from the buckshot residue from the illegal deer killing!) Derek bitches that he cannot run in his own constituency because glorious United Conservative Party Leader Hon. Jason Kenney, PC, MLA says that Leela Aheer, MLA, UCP, Chestermere-Rocky View would be running there in the redrawn boundaries once the writ drops provincially in MMXIX. Jason just became an MLA on Jan. XXIXth, MMXVIII, he didn't reset the boundaries, & unlike Derek who has scandals & now two Provincial Court convictions for law breaking recently, Leela has no scandals & has been absolutely brilliant as an MLA since assuming office in the last provincial writ! So what is Jason doing wrong, nothing: he's making a command decision! Which is what true leaders do! Plus he's not blocking Derek from running against Leela or any other UCP MLA as an Independent status candidate.

I do find Edmonton-Decore Alberta Liberal Acting-President Wade Izzard's (@w_izzard) assertion that Alberta Party Leader Candidate Steve Mandel has successfully gotten into secret talks the Hon. O'Neil Carlier, MLA, Minister of Agriculture & Forestry, New Democratic, Whitecourt-Ste. Anne to agree to move over to the Alberta Party as his new Deputy Leader along with 4 backbench NDP MLAs quite stunning. Especially as Eric Rosendahl, MLA, New Democratic, West Yellowhead, Robyn Luff, MLA, New Democratic, Calgary-East, Chris Nielsen, MLA, New Democratic, Edmonton-Decore, & Estefania Cortes-Vargas, MLA, New Democratic, Strathcona-Sherwood Park are all willing to be openly named. This would give Mandel 8 seats to control & a couple of safe Edmonton seats in which to contest a byelection.

Accuracy,

Rory

"Trading Places"

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

February Vth, MMXVIII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

On the 630 AM Ched Radio Stereo show hosted by Ryan Jespersen today, staff from Women Building Futures & a female ironworker were on the show. This is a great idea promoting women to take courses in the trades because over the next 10 years over 250,000 people will be retiring from the trades. So I for one appreciate Ryan helping to promote women getting into the trades to cover the deficit of tradespeople we will be facing. Besides if women can handle the taxing normally upper body labour challenges of the job, they should be more than welcome! Many can work in areas that a male might not be able to fit into on jobsites!

Traders,

Rory

Checking Out The Check Out!

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., Jasper Place Public Library Terminal #VII, Edmonton, Alberta

February IIIrd, MMXVIII

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Students who feel intimidated by the check out in library branches shouldn't be. The management & staff make the experience of using a library self-check out easy. People of all ages young & old & everywhere in between can indeed be befuddled by technology, but these machines are easy & family friendly so that even little children can use the machines to check out items!

Checking,

Rory
