November VIth, MMXIV

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed., MLA-Elect
Minister of Education,
Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow

Dear Gordon:

In Routine Proceedings, Yvon Godin, MP moves for leave to introduce Bill C-522, An Act to amend the Criminal Code & respecting the Motor Vehicle Safe Regulations (student transport), a Private Members Bill. Sounds anything but routine & Yvon is doing this in memory of a high school basketball team & their adult chaperone that died in a XV (15) passenger van crash in his riding. The bill is designed to try & prevent as many student deaths as possible in the future with new safety regulations by stopping students from riding in these vehicles in the future.

"Mr. Speaker, I am pleased today to introduce my Boys in Red bill. The purpose of the bill is to prohibit the transportation of students in vehicles commonly known as 15-passenger vans."

Number CXXIV (124),

Rory
