Dear Jeff:

Today Sergeant Joe Friday of the Los Angeles Police Department is working the swing shift as an extra aide to Burglary/Robbery & Bodily Assault Division. In keeping with the fact that it is Saint Valentine's Day, Sgt. Friday wants to ensure that citizens are safe as they celebrate the occasion with parties, dinners, etc. The Sarge is coordinating squad car detail & as such has to sit in the passenger seat of a squad car himself so he can talk with police headquarters & other cars by radio in order to keep the streets safe & help in the pursuit with their cars as backup if Sgt. Friday needs them. He is in pursuit of a violent armed robbery & assault suspect, the suspect now in an escape vehicle having just robbed & beaten a retired teacher & her husband who were having a combined retirement & Saint Valentine's Day supper at a local Los Angeles eating establishment. The Sgt. has a rather excellent sense of directional knowledge & is calling in his pursuit path. Thus, other squad cars & cops walking the streets near the path can keep members of the public safe & out of the way in those areas until the suspect is captured or if necessary killed.

"We are travelling east on Wilshire Boulevard, crossing La Brea!"

First Person Narration By Sgt. Friday During Each Case In A Matter Of Fact Manner While Its Happening In "Real Time",
