First Past The Post At First Baptist Church

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

October XXIInd, MMXIII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

As one of the II ballot clerks at the First Baptist Church (Voting Station #VI-XI (6-11)) yesterday in palatial downtown Edmonton, I must say that I truly enjoyed the experience. Edmonton Elections is beyond excellent as an organization. It was certainly my privilege to work IV them & I have now worked as a campaign worker for Her Majesty's Governments at all III levels: civically, provincially, & federally.

It was also encouraging to see so many young people, including students getting off from school coming out to vote, as well as parents with youngsters or "Future Voters" as Edmonton Elections terms them. Democracy must not fail, it did a bit yesterday with only a 34.5% overall voter turnout. We certainly need to encourage students & others to get & stay involved in a healthy way in the democratic & political processes of this Dominion.

Balance Your Count,

Rory
