Dear Jeff:
Wendy's founder Dave Thomas was a protege at one time of KFC founder Col. Harland Sanders of our last blog entry. He even owned a few KFC franchises. Dave was adopted & so knew the value of being part of an adopted/blended family. So he himself adopted his daughter Wendy, whom he named his restaurant chain after. Plus he started an adoption foundation both in the United States & Canada to make it easier IV family's to adopt & have the healthy bond that is the adult/child human relationship.
