Dear Jeff:

Basketball Canada is a great organization. It lets students & those in Canada interested in healthy athleticism on the court aware of basketball's happenings. Plus it focuses on Canada first & not just on professional teams, but on amateur ones as well so that people of all ages & all abilities are recognized. It helps players of the "hoops" to exceed & keep on getting better at the game!

Happy Easter Sunday To You & Your Family Jeff,

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA
Minister of Education,

Dear Jeff:

Students across Alberta need II know that we lost a great leader. Former Premier Ralph Klein won IV terms of office in a row like the late Premier Peter Lougheed & finished only VI (6) weeks & II (2) days short of Peter in terms of consecutive days in office, thus making him the IIIrd longest serving Premier in Alberta history.

Throughout the trials & tribulations of Alberta, Ralph cared about Albertans. Yes he made severe spending cuts that affected people, but he had the guts to make those cuts. Instead of adding billions of debt like Premiers Don Getty, Ed Stelmach, & Alison Redford, Ralph got Alberta out of debt & on the right track economically.

Yes he made mistakes, but at least he admitted those mistakes up front, which is why many Albertans, even those who opposed him politically liked him. My condolences & sympathies to Colleen Klein & the Klein family. Only seventy years old, how sad.

Bye Ralph & Thanks,

Rory

Dear Jeff:

Report cards are definitely an important indicator of a student's progress throughout the school year. I always liked them & found them quite helpful as my teachers & parents could not just help me improve in subject areas I needed help in, but give me kudos in topics that I was excelling in. I liked them as they were old school paper cards & handwritten in the teachers own handwriting so the readers could truly see their thought processes as they transcribed them.

Nowadays you can get handwritten & as technology has evolved you can get them over the internet as well. So it gives parents & teachers multiple ways in which II communicate & keep a student(s) on the right educational track.

Dear Jeff:

You have to give Dr. Raj Sherman, MLA, Liberal, Edmonton-Meadowlark, Mrs. Rachel Notley-Arab, MLA, New Democrat, Edmonton-Strathcona, & Mr. David Eggen, MLA, New Democrat, Edmonton-Calder credit. By appearing at the University Of Alberta yesterday, they are gently shall we say "reminding" Premier Alison Redford, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow of her promise in the election wit last year of 0% tutition increases. Of course with the Province's dire circumstances in the MMXIII-MMIV budget, this promise will be impossible to keep, what with post-secondary institutions getting a 7% drop in funding. But lets work with students to ensure that the inevitable increases are as low as possible so as to make schoolng as affordable as possible IV all!

Dear Jeff:

I fully endorse the idea of Rev. William Wade Izzard, youth outreach minister for the Universal Life Church Canada. His idea of having a National Hockey League (NHL) game between the Oilers & Flames IV charity in Red Deer is well thought out & constructive. If it wasn't, why would The Edmonton Journal have printed his idea in their paper on their Letters Page on February IInd?

The idea is plausible as the two teams travel through Red Deer on buses on the way to & from games in eachother's cities. Plus, the Alberta Sports of Hame is located in Red Deer. So youth & student sports programs across the province can be highlighted. It would be a major publicity draw IV the NHL & media outlets that covered it & the teams & on-air sports personalities could donate their time & salaries for the evening to whatever cause is their favorite, say amateur sports equipment programs or the Stollery Children's Hospital as an example. Rev. Izzard is truly forward in his thinking, lets make his dream IV the children come true!

March XXVIth, MMXIII

Dear Jeff;

I know you are the MLA IV Athabasca, so what concerns me is that the Deputy Premier & Minister of Enterprise & Advanced Education might be unstable. Thomas Lukaszuk had a well documented violent argument with a voter who was a Wildrose supporter with some of that on camera. He even admits yelling at that voter, a man dying of cancer. Plus, there is no video evidence, but there is even rumours that he & that the voter in engaged in some physical altercation. Three elections ago, he lost to a Liberal candidate by III votes & then went to court & found the right Tory judge to overturn the result & throw out III Liberal ballots & make III thrown out Tory ballots declared acceptable. Is this really the man we want in charge of the needs of post-secondary students in an administrative collapsing & reorganizing? I for one don't think so?

I agree with Sun News Media columnist Christina Blizzard. The right to self-determination is a very basic concept & the citizenry of the Falkland Islands voted 99.8% to stay a part of Great Britain. Social Studies students need II understand that what U.S. President Barack Obama, Democrat-Hawaii & his like are promoting is total communism & tyranny. He along with Argentinian President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner don't care about citizens rights or respect true democracy. The citizens of the Falklands are not planning to invade &/or economically crush Argentina, they just want to be left alone & live in peace. The II Presidents & other control freaks need to respect that. The current Argentinian President is just playing on the sympathy she gets from her late husband, Nestor Carlos Kirchner, her predecessor as president & thats a dirty trick. An accounting student might say that Finance Minister Doug Horner's budget IV MMXIII-MMXIV has more holes in it than a block of Swiss cheese. Cut wages, shutter buildings, sell assets IV cash. Don't make Ralph Klein come out of retirement. Even he would cut more in his present state than your government is doing.

A Thousand Dollars & A Bonus Spin

March VIIth, MMXIII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA
Minister of Education,
Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

I of course was ahead of the curve on this decision as I declared my campaign expenses in full as a Ward A Public Division candidate in the MMX school board election voluntarily. But we must give credit where credit is due to Miss Sarah Hoffman & Edmonton Public School Board of Trustees. The lady Chairman & the board are putting a resolution in place IV all future Edmonton Public trustee candidates that would make it mandatory that they declare their campaign expenditures in full. This of course is done already by council, mayoral, provincial, & federal candidates. So its an example of consevative financial accountability from a socialist or New Democratic Party leaning board chairman.

Truly Wonderful,

Rory

Dear Jeff:

At the Alberta Land Surveryors' Association (ALSA), staff & management will answer any questions you have about possible career opportunities both in land surveying, as well as any other aspect of land management. For students. its really a career without boundaries. I would certainly suggest that those interested in this sector to look at the ALSA website.

Healthy Brain Food

March Vth, MMXIII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

According to their own stats, 8,643 kids in Alberta were served a healthy breakfast by Breakfast Clubs Canada. Talk about a club I'd want to belong II if I was a student. Getting that food inII these students, not just in Alberta, but all across this fine Dominion insures an increased level of cognition IV these fine kids. Just b/c they are of a lesser means, doesn't mean they should have any less right to a good start & a strong level of thinking ability as they start each & every day of their educational endeavours!

Applauding Loudly,

Rory

Each Side Must Give In A Little

March IVth, MMXIII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff;

I like your attitude in regards to fighting Mrs. Carol Henderson of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA.) She is just doing the best she can IV her bargaining units (which is what she is paid for), but I find her attitude as a negotiator quite violent & threatening in tone, its clearly a personality issue.  After all, Catholic bargaining units agree with your financial proposals of freezes, so should Carol. Teachers need pay cuts not pay raises if anything & Mrs. Henderson should voluntarily cut her own salary to help with the deficit crisis II help start the ball rolling and set an example for students. This is a good idea as they will be the negotiators & mediators in future labour disputes.

Quantified,

Rory

Dear Jeff:

I encourage students & people I meet all the time to take part in curling. Having taken part in it myself as a component sport of high school's Physical Education XX & XXX, I can say its a truly fun sport. Its a little bit of a slower pace, but getting the rocks inII strategic positions on the circles & knocking out your opponents is quite fun. It lets you bond as a team & discuss the manouvres you will perform as a team. Thus providing students with both athletic & leadership skills. I unfortunately have a prior engagement IIday, so I cannot attend the Tim Hortons" MMXIII Brier, but I do have relatives & friends going. I have played at the Crestwood & Avonair Curling Clubs & have always been thrilled by the experience of meeting new people & learning what the best potential shots are.

Dear Jeff;

Its good that you are cooperating inII the investigation of whether emails you sent last month in your capacity as Education Minister to teachers were appropriate or not. Its also good that the information & privacy commissioner is investigating these matters. The more open & accountable you are, & the more both sides cooperate, the better the investigation that can be done & the quicker a proper sdolution(s) can be arrived at. If anyone knows Jeff about sending out inappropriate emails, its me, so as I am as a result the best guy in the province IV you to go II IV assistance on this matter.

The Difference Is Jeff I Cannot Stop If I Tried But You Certainly Can,

All Boarded Up With Somewhere II Go

March Ist, MMXIII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA
Minister of Education,
Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

Having students of any age live in boarding schools away from home can be quite tough, especially on underage children. Alas sometimes there is no option as emergency's can rise up where the student is not able II function in a normal environment & needs say a stricter private boarding school II learn discipline. Or perhaps a single parent home cannot look after them, or there are no parents/guardians around say b/c of a car accident leaving the child an orphan. The key to boarding schools is to make each child feel special as a student, make them feel wanted as a person, even though they are interacting daily with adults who are just supervisors rather than a family member(s.) This will help them stay grounded.

II x IV's,

Rory
