What with Astronaut Garneau's science degree & him being the first Canadian astronaut in outer space, he could bring forward ideas to get students excited about science, space exploration, & astronomy. In addition, Captain Garneau as a retired officer of Her Majesty's Royal Canadian Navy can make sure that our military veterans, active duty personnel, & their family's are treated with both dignity & respect.
