The Next Leader Of The Liberal Party Of/Du Canada An Educational Focus Partie Cinq

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #203, 8912-156 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T5R 5Z2

January XXXIst, MMXIII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

Former Federal Liberal cabinet Minister the Hon. Martin Cauchon, PC, LL. B., M. Law is quite an interesting fellow. A lawyer like several of the other Grit candidates, Monsieur Cauchon brings valuable cabinet experience II the federal table. He would be a valuable tool to accounting & finance students as he served as Minister of National Revenue. Plus, he ensured civility & fairness in law as Minister of Justice by allowing gay couples unions to be recognized as marriages. This gives Martin a strong social conscience & I am sure a lot of respect from students thinking of entering legal studies IV their post-secondary careers.

Affluent,

Rory

The Next Leader Of The Liberal Party Of/Du Canada An Educational Focus Partie Quatre

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #203, 8912-156 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T5R 5Z2

January XXXth, MMXIII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

Led by the extraordinary campaign team from Hill & Knowlton Strategies of Stephen Carter & Corey Hogan, Martha Hall-Findlay, an ex-MP certainly has an excellent educational background in order to run IV the Federal Liberal Leadership. Martha went through school quickly, skipping III grades & finishing high school at XV (15), a remarkable achievement. She's excellent on the linguistic file as well since she speaks English & French fluently, as well as a smattering of Spanish, Italian, & Russian. This would certainly be an asset in helping immigrant Canadians & students make their educational mark. She graduated from the University Of Toronto's International Relations programme, & is also a lawyer, having attending the formidable Osgoode Hall Law School.

Very Dynamic Indeed,

Rory

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

Astronaut/Captain Marc Garneau, B. Sc., Ph. D., MP, Liberal, Westmount-Ville Marie would certainly be an excellent educational choice as Federal Liberal Leader. What with Astronaut Garneau's science degree & him being the first Canadian astronaut in outer space, he could bring forward ideas to get students excited about science, space exploration, & astronomy. In addition, Captain Garneau as a retired officer of Her Majesty's Royal Canadian Navy can make sure that our military veterans, active duty personnel, & their family's are treated with both dignity & respect.

January XXVIIIth, MMXIII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

It appears that the Federal Liberals have hit an educational jackpot in terms of their candidates. In addition to being the mother of Justin Trudeau, MP's 1/2 sister (Trudeau being a fellow leadership contender), Ms. Deborah Coyne is a constitutional law professor & is very strong at teaching about laws & legal precedents on constitutional matters. Since Justin's late father, former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau brought Canada back its own Constitution with its signing by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The IInd, it makes IV an interesting dynamic to have two of the same family members running IV the same job.

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #203, 8912-156 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T5R 5Z2

January XXVIIth, MMXIII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

The Trudeau genes of the late former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau might just include a return trip to 24 Sussex Drive & the Office of the Prime Minister for Monsieur Justin Trudeau, B. Ed., MP, Liberal-Papineau. As a former teacher by trade, Monsieur Trudeau might just bring an educational focus to the job of Federal Liberal Leader if he wins the contest. He might also be able to enact legislation that helps students on all fronts & of all ages were he eventually become the Prime Minister of Canada & head of Her Majesty's Government.

What with Ms. Kathleen Wynne, B. A., M. Ed., MPP, Liberal, Don Valley West, the former Ontario Education Minister becoming the Premier-Elect this weekend & Leader of the Ontario Liberals, we certainly have the potential IV a real breakthrough in terms of policy on both provincial & federal fronts in this Dominion.

Dear Jeff:

I agree that its an excellent idea IV Premier Alison Redford, MLA: Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow to be addressing the province IInight about the deficit pressures facing Alberta from 6:52PM-7PM MST on CTV & 7:52PM-8PM on CTV2 stations. The accrued cost of $55,000.00 is a little steep, & I agree with an Grant MacEwan University economic student who told be on a bus today that the Premier should have just put the address out over YouTube on the internet. In this way, she could have used government owned cameras & the cost would have been free. While its certainly a great economic driver IV the fine CTV Edmonton News Department, using the internet would have been free.

My suggestion would have been that Alison use the studios at NAIT or SAIT & have the broadcast go out over student television. Then the students could have used it as a field project & Minister of Finance & President Of The Treasury Board Doug Horner, MLA: Progressive Conservative, Spruce Grove-St. Albert would not have had to authorize any monies IV it. Nevertheless, I wish Alison all the best in her broadcast endeavour.

To learn about great historical pioneer schools, tour different Alberta cities & towns. The one pictured above is the Fort McMurray School, it & many other schools have a rich cultural history. My late mother, Mrs. June C. Koopmans, B. Ed. taught at old fashioned small schools in the country in the McLaughlin & Clandonald regions of Alberta. Start by encouraging history & social studies students online to take virtual tours of these great old buildings. Students looking at getting inII the techie business & inII internet related businesses should look to Blue Shift as an example. They still have a big gaming component, but have adapted inII fixing computers & photocopying & making signs & banners to make up IV the loss in revenues from their internet division. Bus routes & bus safety IV students are of paramount importance to students & their family's. Not only should bus drivers have their routes mapped out on paper, but they should have both GPS & paper map systems in their buses. The paper copies in case their computers lose power. Drivers should also have to be constantly reminded of the dangers they could potentially face in terms of say bad weather & perhaps accidents &/or bus hostage takers. Parents should contact their local bus company's that are responsible IV driving their kids if they have any issues. Other sources such as their trustees, &/or school administration officials to get clarifications on safety are also very helpful.

Dear Jeff:

Showbiz comedic veterans Billy Crystal & Bette Midler are joined by Academy Award (TM) Winner Marisa Tomei & a great supporting cast in the film "Parental Guidance." The film showcases the importance of family, in particular grandparents. Not just in emergency's, such as the film's premise where the grandparents are called in when their daughter & son-in-law need them as they have to go out of town. But in daily life as well. The different parenting styles may clash, but all everyone can do (just as in life) is adjust the best that they can.

Grandparents are important not just to their kids as parental backups, but as older generational models IV their still school aged grandchildren. This movie Jeff is just an absolute family delight & whats best about is it looked like the cast & crew had fun filming. Thus bonding as not just a film team, but a family film team!

It sure is hard II believe that its MMXIII now. In XVII days, it'll be a year since that great lady my mother, Mrs. June C. Koopmans, B. Ed. went to "teacher heaven" in the sky. Alas in her memory, we keep on blogging & talking education b/c its all about the children.

A few reminders:

I. Students should attend the New Year's Levee & Meet & Greet with the Lt. Gov., His Honour Lt. Col. Don Ethell at Government House IIday. Its a great way to learn about Canada's ties to the monarchy, & how our system of representative democracratic government works. Plus folks get to meet the Lt. Gov., Mrs. Ethell, the police & fire chiefs, as well as armed forces personnel who serve Canada so well, both on domestic soil & foreign shores. In addition, delicious food & beverages such as Alberta beef & turkey & eggnog are served. Its a wonderful time.

II. A historical factoid for students to remember. The planetoid Earth did not end on December XXIst, MMXII as predicted by the Mayan calendar.

III. Cats do not wear hats, thats stupid. Cats fight having clothes put on them very strongly. So as my relatives state, students watching cartoons have the right to believe that the show "The Cat In The Hat Knows About That" is bogus as cats prefer not to wear hats. My feline son James Redwing (J.R.) Cat Koopmans doesn't even like it when I try to put a collar on him.

IV. The Christmas Bureau did not make its fundraising goals last year. Alas its not too late to help them this year as they help folks year round. Please give what you can & encourage others II do so.

Ronald McDonald House Is Also An Excellent Charity,
