Presidents Of The United States Week-Day Two

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin.
#203, 8912-156 Street
Edmonton, Alberta T5R 5Z2

November XXIVth, MMXII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA
Minister of Education,
Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

The VIIIth President Of The United States, Martin Van Buren, Democrat-New York was quite an interesting fellow. I find him interesting b/c Van Buren is a Dutch last name, just like mine is. Koopmans means "salesman" in Dutch, a fascinating tidbit for genealogical students II note.

A. He was the first President to be born a United States citizen. All of his predecessors technically were British Subjects & then even though born on United States soil, were not Americans until after America's birth on July IVth, MDCCLXXVI.

B. First ever President whose Ist language was not English, but Dutch spoken at home because thats what his family spoke when he was growing up.

C. Able II get a system of bonds set up so that the United States Treasury could have emergency cash to cover unexpected depression era expenses & get food & emergency iterms to citizens in desperate straits.

Hannah Hoes Van Buren,

Rory
