November XIth, MMXII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

On this most solemn of days, we must remember that our fallen soldiers, as well as those who served could give Canadians & citizens of the world at large a better life. I honour our soldiers each year by attending Rememberance Day Ceremonies each year. Its also my XXXVIIIth (38th) birthday IIday & I am both honoured & spellbound to have this shared day of priviledge with our veterans. Other notable people born on Rememberance Day include:

I. Notable Hollywood Actress Demi Moore, she turns half a century today as she was born on Nov. XIth, MCMLXII (1962.)

II. Superb Combat Soldier & IV Star United States General George S. Patton, Jr. who was born on Nov. XIth, MDCCCLXXXV (1885) & died valiantly in combat on December XXIst, MCMXLV (1945.)

III. Abigail Adams, the Ist IInd Lady Of The United States as wife of Vice-President John Adams, & also the IInd Ist Lady Of The United States when her husband became the IInd President upon the retirement of George Washington was born on Nov. XIth, MDCCXLIV (1744.)

IV. Leonardo Dicaprio, the excellent actor & I were both born on the same day & year, Nov. XIth, MCMLXXIV (1974.) Indeed a priviledge for me as I think the world of his acting skills.

V. King Charles The IVth of Spain was born on this day in MDCXXLVIII (1748), he had a XX year run on the throne which is longer than many monarchs last.

VI. Acclaimed novelist Kurt Vonnegut was born on Nov. XIth, MCMXXII (1922.)

So November XIth is not just about death, its about life, let us never forget our veterans & active duty soldiers. They make it so these fine talented people could be born & be contributing members II society.

And We Will Remember Them,

Rory
