Dear Jeff:

It seems that students & their parents are having II deal with more & more high tech gadgets in schools. Now that of course can be both good & bad. I prefer a chalkboard & handwriting, seeing a teacher put ideas on a board in their own time & then physically being excited about those ideas as I transcribe them on my notebook. Still other students might prefer to type things on a notebook, or onto a laptop & that is also okay.

What must be done is that we strike a balance, using the best of old & new technologies, remembering that one can never stop the human element of wanting II better themselves, while at the same time keeping & adaptin in ideas from the past. Written exams should stay written IV instance & no technological devices should be permitted in the exam room to ensure absolute honesty & transparency. I have a friend who is partly blind & he takes night courses. I have no problem in him audio recording those lectures so he can later IV instance transcribe those notes inII brail &/or larger print formats that are suited II his needs.
